What We Believe

What we Believe      The Metaphysical Ten Commandments       Metaphysical Christianity

As Metaphysical Christians, we are often asked about our Christian beliefs and how they differ from the other religions.

Unlike other faiths, we focus on the teachings of Jesus the Christ and attempt to understand them energetically. Behind every act and every teaching that he gave to us was a Universal Truth. These deep meanings are still there even though they have been interpreted many different ways over time. Language, cultural differences and morals of the day have all influenced how Christâs words and meanings were to be applied. We seek to go to the scriptures and look again!

If you study the four gospels and Jesusâ message, you will find that he is pointing our hearts and minds to ãGod, our Fatherä. He is teachings us of a world that can exist in love and peace when we follow our hearts to Spirit. When he left the planet, the disciples were faced with an overwhelming task. Because of their great love for him, their focus shifted to their loss of his presence. His last demonstration became the message- his death, resurrection and ascension. It seemed that all of his teachings that had lead to that moment were all but forgotten. The healings became less and less. The miracles were less and less. The early Christiansâ focus became the message of Jesusâ last days and the promise of his return.

Then as Paul came on to the scene, his writings show us that there was a need to organize and keep the converts faithful. They had been waiting for Jesus to return for almost thirty years now, and the folds were becoming restless. As Paul is dealing with the problems of the day, he begins to set up ãguidelinesä that have been extended down over the centuries as ãrules of behaviorä. Paul was merely handling problems as they arose. We do not believe that these letters were intended to be taken as rules of behavior. They were merely attempts at maintaining order at that time.

We, therefore, lovingly explore Paulâs writings and those of the other disciples in the New Testament, the Nag Hamadi and other sacred writings with the realization that they were applying Jesusâ teachings to the best of their abilities and understandings of their time.

Today, mankind has evolved in so many ways. We understand more deeply the Universal Creator, our Father God. We understand that Godâs laws must apply to the whole. We, therefore, focus our awareness on the teachings of Jesus the Christ and how those inner meanings can be applied today. Jesus taught about love in all ways of life. As we love, we are loved. As we serve, we grow. Mankind is evolving into a true spiritual state and it is through understanding the Love that Jesus taught that we will arrive- awakened children of God.

Jesus shared many parables in which a master would leave his servants in charge to do the work until his return. We all know that in the parables, the servants become belligerent and do what they want. The master returns and they reap what they have sown. BUT, lets think for a moment. What if the servants had done their jobs. What if they had worked every day, taking care of the household or vineyard. After a time, when the master returned, what would he find? He would find a servant that had grown into a
Master!

That is what we seek. To become the master, our Father asks us to be! We are willing to do the work and Jesus the Christ showed us the way. Love!

Our Bibles

The Bible:

We do use the Bible in our teachings. We feel that the Old Testament is filled with wonderful examples of the consciousness of man and his desire to connect with God. We can see through the Old Testament stories of mankindâs successes, failures and his awareness of the interaction of God in his life. Then in the New Testament, Jesus comes to teach us of a new relationship with God. God is our loving Father! This idea was revolutionary at that time! It was the beginning of a new relationship with a God that is within the hearts of all.

Since we are Christian, our focus is on the teachings of Jesus Christ. We honor all versions of the Bible, however, we recommend the Lamsa Translation of the Holy Bible as it refers back to the original Aramaic texts for translation.

The Aquarian Gospel:

We also use the Aquarian Gospel in our teachings. This is a wonderful book of the life of Jesus. It was written by Levi Dowling in the late 1800âs and was a transcription from the akashic records. This book is filled with explanation and truth that has been hidden or removed from our New Testament. In this work, we see the great need for mankind to evolve himself and the way in which to do it.

Other Spiritual Books:

There are a great many other spiritual books that have a wonderful gift to give the seeking heart. We embrace any and all books whose message is that of love for God, Christ and mankind, and the freedom within each heart to choose.

Metaphysical Christianity
By Rev. Cindy Fuller

Standard Christian Theology is based on morality.  You can do something good which will draw you closer to God.  You can do something bad which will take you away from God.  And, ultimately, if you have been good, you will be rewarded by God for your goodness.  If you have been bad, you will find yourself, at the judgment day, separated from God.  Over our history as Christians, what is good in one century may have been deemed bad in another.  Even though Biblical texts were used to guide the basis of the moral codes of the moment, these guides were interpreted by the ruling order at that time.  Whether it be the pope, or church council, we have seen the same teachings of Christ be used to instill many different and diverse codes of behavior.  The rules in a system of morality always change based on the situations of the people in any given cultural environment.  We have seen this time and time again.

Metaphysical Christianity is based on a belief of responsibility.  There is nothing you can do to make God love you any more or less than He already does.  You can, however, turn away from His love or towards it.  The choice is always yours.  ãKnow ye not that ye are Gods?ä · ãYou will reap what you sow.ä  We believe that Jesus was teaching us that what you give so you will receive.  What you do will return to you in ãlike mannerä·äcast your bread on the waters and it will return to you after many days.ä  If you are kind, kindness will be given to you.  If you are withdrawn, people will withdraw from you.  As you express love, you will draw love into your world.  And since God is love, you will feel a greater closeness to him.  If you express hatred or fear, then situations will surround you that bring hatred or fear to you, and since God is love, there will seem an absence of His presence.

As powerful as our own thoughts are, how much more powerful could they be when they are directed in the will, love and presence of God!  If I choose to walk with God, then every thought, belief and desire will be sent forth not only with my human energy, but with the greater energy of Godâs love.  Therefore, that which returns to me will be filled to overflowing with the greater.  As I send forth my good intentions to be one with God, I can move from human love to celestial love, from human good intentions to cosmic good intentions.  I will reap with God, I will sow with God.  And I canât think of a greater partner.  As I send forth my thought and desires in God Love, they can only return to me in God love and I will live in a world of Godâs love.

Metaphysical Christianity is a belief system of responsibility.  I am the one ultimately responsible for my world.  My thoughts, beliefs and intentions go forth to create.  And I now choose to create a world filled with Godâs love, joy and great peace.  And so it is!
